It was very interesting to hear about your lifestyle, and your place being surrounded by nature and wildlife. I even learned that birds have long lives and also how to protect trees from animals. It was so much fun talking about that. Thank you.

Double lesson.

Today, we talked about the controversial and divisive issue of changing the pacifist constitution.
Laws are all for Japanese people to obey. The constitution is for the government to obey. Thanks to the constitution, we have kept the peaceful society for 70 years. If it is changed, then Japan may be dragged into conflicts. Furthermore, if the defense forces is changed to armed forces, the badget for the arms would be enormously increased. Who pays it?
Japan is now struggling with huge deficit. I think we have to expect more what would happen after the change. Then, I asked Mark to tell me the key words to describe environmental issues. He taught me a lot of hot items such as conservation, deforestation, biodiversity, ecosystem and gave me the explanation. Thank you very much, Mark. You always give me significant information and ideas. I'm going to make a final burst for the test. Thank you for your help!

It was a great lesson. You let me speak a lot and helped me with better expressions. I learned a lot even though it was only 25 minutes. Thank you sooo much.

Today'topic is "Who should be responsible for the care of the elderly - the government or the family?" It's a hot issue for the ageing sociey. I made a speech and Mark changed some expressions to natural ones.

We finished reading an article "Traveling world with cats and a dog". There were many new expressions for me. If I could understand the nuance of English I think I'm able to enjoy reading in English more, so his lessons help me a lot.

Mark, this morning I checked the CNN site to learn about a recent development of Russian gate, and was shocked by another terrorist attack at New York. The world is too eventful: Typhoons, a track running over people, suicide club (?) at Kanagawa (not far from my place). Take care!

Today I deliver a small speech for "Should smoking be banned worldwide?" Mark checked my ideas for the topic and gave me more suitable expressions and other persuasive ideas. I could make up my ideas. Thanks to his advice, my insufficient expressions have been improved.

Today, I made a speech about "Should large companies in Japan make English their official language?"
I managed to provide 2 main reasons to explain my answer, but still need to improve some expressions. Mark brought me key expressions and useful words for me.

*raising the profile of ....
....etc.

We continued reading an article about "traveling world with cats and a dog". There were many new words and expressions for me again, so I could learned a lot. Also I tried to guess the meaning from sentences that made me remember words after Mark taught me correct meaning. It was a fruitful lesson as always.

This lesson was our first time to talk with. I started with my self-introduction, and then I asked Mark about himself and the country where he lives now. I really enjoyed talking with him, as his English was clear.

Today, I expressed my opinion about the question "Will women ever be equal to men in the Japanese workplace?" I believe they will be equal and I explained how they can do.
When I couldn't explain my ideas, Mark suggested suitable expressions and taught me the useful key words to
