I had a great time with Mark. Thank you!

This time we had free conversation. We talked about how to spend Christmas holidays, New year holidays and some other topics. I always had a good time speaking with Mark-sensei.

We talked about old photos that had changed to sepia color.
Taking photos were expensive in old days.
People went to photo stidios or a photpgrapher came to the house to take their familyphotos.
It might have been a very special day for them.
Now people can be very easy to take photos using thier smartphnes.
Maybe they don't see them much. Thenjust forget them.
I remember how much imagination I had inflammed from the old phots that were my grandparents'photos taken 100 years ago.
I don't think we need much photos.
Just one photo is good for my good memories.

Today, we talked about the article of the case that Huaway's CFO was arrested in Canada. I didn't know Huaway is the second largest smartphone-maker (the largest is Samsung) and I could learn the IT battle among world nations has been heated up and becoming complicated.
Mark cleared my unfamiliar words and expressions with understandable explanations. Thank you, Mark for providing me exciting topics as alwasy. See you next lesson.

Today, I learned some expressions such as "fall from the roof while cleaning snow","take advantage of--","question authority",,,etc. It's really meaningful that Mark always suggests me different ways of thinking and ideas when I organize my opinions. Mark chose me an interesting article from BBC as always. First, he explained my unfamiliar words and phrases such as "labor crunch","overhaul","replacement level","thin it down""scrupulous",,etc. He always kindly teaches the meanings until I fully understand with a variety of examples and different ways. I asked him to review my script for my next toastmasters' meeting. There were several sentences that didn't sound natural and he kindly corrected them. Today I learned a new expression;"half-glass-empty person", and the difference between refuse and decline. I enjoyed talking with him, as usual. See you soon, Mark!

I talked to Mark about my 4-days trip enjoying hot springs to Tohoku area I had the other day.
On the way to the second destination I dropped in "Yamadera" temple. The main temple is at the foot of a mountain. Many other small temples are on the cliffes high in the mountain. I just looked at those temples far away from the road. The view was wonderful and seems like "sacred". We talked about religius topics from "Yamadera". It was an interesting topic to be able to know what it is like in Europe.

I had a good time with you as usual. I would like to improve my speaking skill more and more.

We talked about "Brexit" based on the article I chose. It was really interesting that how some British think about immigrants. Thank you as always:)

Mark always teaches me my unfamiliar words and phreases in the article and furthermore, he suggests me how to grab the main points of an article we read together. We talked about a topic of a divorce in YK and Japan. The times have changed on many things. Values in society has been changing. The topic came to an issue through an augument between my husband and I had this moening.
I enjoyed talking with Mark.

Today, we talked about the article "Where do teachers get the most respect?" It's interesting that the more teachers are respected, the higher achievement students have. How about in Japan? The job of teaching is respected? Education is the most important job to make society better. Has enough tax money been spent in education?
Today, I learned my unfamiliar words and phrases such as wel-regarded profession, perceived status and raise the profile,,,,,. Mark kindly explained the meanings with a lot of examples and other expressions. Thank you, Mark as always.

I talked about that I went to a show called "dinner-show" by Takarazuka actresses. In connection of that we talked about Ken Watanabe who is acting a main character in famous musical play " The King and I" in London. I was happy to know that Mark praised him.
