Today, I chose the article about the changing rolls of social media and digital advertisement from "The economist". That is too difficult for me to summarize, but Max kindly explained the words and expressions and I could understand what the articl means. I need to practice what he taught me repeatedly. I'm not good at writing essays, because I need more practice for choosing proper vocabularies and building sentences. Max always indicates the worong points or the area for improvement in my essay and corrects them.

What we did today was very difficult for me. Firstly, it was not easy for me to think my opinion and it was impossible to tell my idea without thinking it in Japanese! It was a hard method. But I might try it again. Thank you for encouraging me, Max! You always try to make me feel comfortable!

Speaking about eveyday events like I did today was fun and ...challenging. I've found another weakpoint of my English and would like to work on it: i.e., the lack of vocabrary in this type of casual English. Today's article was about Mexican culture.
We talked about the cultural differences between Mexico and Japan, and also discussed how important it is to respect each culture. Having said that, it's hard to understand other cultures sometimes, but all in all, we agreed that we shouldn't be so judgmental against other cultures you're not familiar with, because this is not about right or wrong, but all cultures are just "different".

This article was good for me as I learned new vocabularies and they're all very useful :-)
Max always gives me detailed explanations about each new word (e.g. if the word is formal/informal, if it's used in casual conversation/business settings, if it's commonly used or not, etc.), so I understand when/how these words are/should be used.

Today, I made an essay and Max corrected it by pointing grammatical mistakes and changing some phrases into natural expressions. Furthermore, advice that repeating same words should be avoided is very helpful.
