Today we talked about comedy or jokes becauze I'm going to make a speech whose theme is what is laughing. He told me styles of comedy such as obvious comedy, physical comedy, slapstic comedy, subtle comedy, stand-up comedy,,,etc. The point of laughter depends on each person's background and there are many kinds of comedy style. I enjoyed talking about intereting sense of laughter.
It was full of ideas for my next speech. Thank you, Mark. See you next time.

In this lesson, I asked Mark to review my next speech that has been brought forward 2 weeks. I was disappointed that there were several words that didn't fit the bill in my speech. I looked up thesaurus to find new words to get rid of repetitiveness, but it didn't work properly. But it was good that I could learn differences betoween synonyms. Thanks, Mark!

Today's topic is the article about one mother's action to give the lesson to her son who are a little spoiled or entitled.
It's an interesting story. Mark explained me unfamiliar words and phrases such as "entitled" "shed" "privilege",,etc. Then he asked some questions and I tried to organize my ideas. That's a good training for me and Mark's suggestions and ideas make me learn how to use words and to structure sentences.

Today, we talked about the article on raising tax on sugar to decrease the obesity of children in Norwey. Mark pointed out the problem causing unfair situation for tax payers and the idea that parents shouls teach their children how to become independent that will be helpful for their future. In this lesson we finished reading an article entitled 'In Germany, the world's most romantic postbox'. It was interesting and heart warming story.

I'm sorry for this late response.
We talked about the article reporting the plan to change adulthood age from 20 to 18 in Japan. He taught some my unknow words and expressions to increase my vocablaries and asked interesting questions. I made efforts to express my ideas and he suggested better phrases and sentences. Discussion was fun!

In this lesson we read an article which Mark prepared for the lesson entitled 'In Germany, the world's most romantic postbox'. The article was very interesting and I liked it. There were several words that I was not familiar with. But most of the words I could guess from a little clue by Mark.

Today I read article of "Hometown Tax donation system". I also explained about gifts in return and the way we terminate gifts from someone who likes to give us too much. The person and I exchange New Years Greeting cards after that. It is normal.
I have expected today's topic would make us laugh, but it might be too strange. I hope I didn't make your image of Japan bad.
