In this lesson we read an article entitled 'The FBI said I was my parents stolen baby - but I found the truth'. I learned new words such as ' trawl', ' doo-wop singer' and 'vanish'. By reading articles, it's interesting to know names of specialist's occupation such as 'investigative journalist' and 'genealogist'. |

In this lesson we continued reading an article entitled 'The FBI said I was my parents stolen baby - but I found the truth'. I learned new words such as 'clash', 'wrestle', and 'swab'. Mark described these definitions clearly with examples so it was easy to understand. Also he helped me guessing the meaning from the context. |

Today we talked about the article featuring 26-year-old female graduate student who invented a great green idea that changes huge quantity of flower waste from each temple after ceremony into useful products such as essential oil and organic manure. It would also contributive to avoiding river pollution because most flower waste has been discarded in the river. She is now trying to develop the system for actual use. Furbulous! Mark explaind all of my questions for me to understand easily. Thank you Mark as always. See you next lesson! |

At the beginning of this lesson, I shared about my 'OBON' holiday last week. Then we started reading a new article entitled 'How I found out my husband had married another woman'. The sentences were not difficult but there were several new expressions for me, such as 'to go out work', 'to bump into',and 'to play (something) card'. |

In this lesson we finished reading an article entitled 'The FBI said I was my parents stolen baby - but I found the truth'. It was an interesting story. There were several new words and Mark described them for me with clear examples. I could remember the definitions better with the way Mark explained for me than find them on dictionary. |

We talked about the article "Third of farmed fruit and veg deemed too ugly to sell". Unexpectedly, a lot of fruit and vegetables have been discarded which are misshapen and worng size. The reason is that customers tend not to buy irregular size or shaped produces. This trend is also seen in Japan. But, actually quite a few customers don't mind shape and size of produces if the quality is same. To select good fruits and vegs, farmers grow excess produces and spend much energy and logistics become complicated. We should accept such produces which are ugly but have standard quality. |

We talked about the article "Japan debates daylight saving to avoid heat". When Mark asked me what is the main problem about adopting daylight saving, I described my opinion, which went off the point. I understood his logical explanation about the reason. I realized grabbing main theme of an article correctly is very important to discuss. Thanks, Mark. See you next lesson. |

Today, I chose the article about Brexit "What does the government White Paper reveal?" Next March, formally and actually, Brexit is goint effect. But there are still a lot of problems. I don't know the detaliled situation and asked Mark them. He enthsiastically explained me the expected problems. I managed to understand the outline ot the big change of the system. Thank you, Mark for your lecture. See you soon. |

Today we discussed the article "The UK's four Brexit options". With the UK on course to leave EU on next March, there are still optional courses for UK's future. |
