I asked him to review my script for my next toastmasters' meeting. There were several sentences that didn't sound natural and he kindly corrected them. Today I learned a new expression;"half-glass-empty person", and the difference between refuse and decline. I enjoyed talking with him, as usual. See you soon, Mark! |

Mark always teaches me my unfamiliar words and phreases in the article and furthermore, he suggests me how to grab the main points of an article we read together. It's really useful to know the how to tackle an article from the various angles. I can learn a lot by his guide. Thank you, Mark for your helpful instruction. See you next time. |

Today, we talked about the article "Where do teachers get the most respect?" It's interesting that the more teachers are respected, the higher achievement students have. How about in Japan? The job of teaching is respected? Education is the most important job to make society better. Has enough tax money been spent in education? |

I talked about that I went to a show called "dinner-show" by Takarazuka actresses. In connection of that we talked about Ken Watanabe who is acting a main character in famous musical play " The King and I" in London. I was happy to know that Mark praised him. |

We read the news article about Japanese rugby, and then discussed the rugby world cup that is going to be held next year. He taught me many useful phrases and vocabularies for sports. |

I asked him to review my short speech for the next meeting. He corrected my grammatical mistakes and made several sentences more clear. I always ask his to check my speechs and I find it very helpful for me. But still I often make similar mistakes, especially missing prepositions is frustrating. Thank you for your help, as usual, Mark. See you! |

We talked about the article "Mass wildlife loss caused by human consumption". I learned how seriously we have continuted to hurt the environment of the earth by the data. In the last section, I had some questions to understand the meaning though, Mark explained to me the meaning with using understandable exapmles, that is even if the number of minor species declined, the whole number of creatures would never be influenced becuse the number of minor speacies is small. How much individual speacies are growing and shrinking. Thank you Mark, see you next lesson. |
