 I had a good time talking about "The Loyal Wife". I didn't have time to prepare for the lesson so I was a bit concerned if I could find a hidden message in it. But Max led the lesson and let me get it. I agree with you, Max. There are lots more things which are more important than money. I don't want to be like that loyal wife!  There are lots of words that native English speakers use in common but many Japanese English learners are unfamiliar. In today's lesson, we focused on the topic of food and I practised making some original sentences with the useful words, including "bland","mushy","greasy","lumpy" and so on.  Elvira 先生はチューターになられて間もないようです。ダブルでとったので、話題は、オーストラリアの歴史、先住民、セルビアの英語教育、ご自分のロシア語通訳時代の経験など多岐にわたりました。ご自分も英語の教科書を出版なさっていらっしゃるということで、EFL としての英語教育とESLのそれとの違いについて議論が沸騰しました。途中で彼女の流れを止めないと、相手のペースにはまって聞くだけになってしまうので、必死で、自分のペースに持ち込み、話題を転換するようにしました。多少苦しかったですが、彼女のおかげで、自分の殻を破れたと思います。苦手な部分もありますが、継続的に授業を取れば、自分のキャパシティーが広がり像です。
