 What is a workplace power harassment? According to a labor ministry of Japan, action now officially considered power harassment include violence and physical ofenses, mental abuse such as threats and verbal assaults, segregations, treating workers coldly, demanding the impossible and forcing works to engage in activities beyond the scope of their duties. Unfortunately, for many employees those action may sound like a typical day at the office. Companies need to stablish clear guidelines. Bosses need to be more aware of their actions and the effect they have on their subordinates, workers who suffer or witness power harassment need to repot it. Companies should undertand that power harassment is bad for productivity. I hope all companies in Japan address these workplaces as soon as possible.
