いつもジョークいっぱいのクラスで笑いが絶えません。
先生は日本に住んでおられたので、志村けんさんのバカ殿のコントを懐かしく
語り合いました。
そんな時でも、英語の言い回しを的確に教えてくださいます。
Her class is always full of jokes.
Since she used to live in Japan, we nostalgically talked about Ken Shimura's BAKATONO comedy.
Even in such a case, she teaches the English exact wording as appropriate.

以前は予習前提のニュース記事をやっていましたが、最近ずっと、Conversation Questions for the ESL/EFL Classroom（http://iteslj.org/questions/ ）から先生にトピックを選んでもらい、質問に答える練習をしています。準備なしでどんな内容もこなせるようになるのが目的です。先生の話の運び方が自然で上手なので、フリー会話のように楽しいです。瞬発力を鍛えるのには、この方法も効果があるように思います。今日は興味深いcloningのトピックでした。

But she overestimates me.
Sometimes I can't hear it.
Listen back and the conversation continues.

In today's lesson, Rose and I talked about how COVID-19 has changed our shopping habits. Rose said she had been wearing bright colors to cheer up her students in online classes. She missed those days when she wore dresses and enjoyed shopping. I said I'd been wearing nothing but jeans in CA, where most people dress casually. We agreed that wearing makeup and decent clothes, even while we stay at home, can increase feelings of self-esteem. See you next time!
