Today, we had a free-talk lesson and started with a small talk about how we spent our new year's holidays.
And then related to that, we discussed how less meaningful it could be to set new year's resolutions. We concluded that personal goals have to be something that isn't liked to time, even though we understand that New Year's Day could be a perfect day to turn over a new leaf and stop or start doing something.
And then, we spent the rest of the time on quick Q and As. Sadie gave me clear and concise explanations.
I like the positive vibe she gives off, and it makes me feel relaxed during class.

We mainly talked about what I did during my winter break. My husband and I visited my husband's hometown and took care of his parents. His mother is almost 80 years old and has a dimensha so she will need support from a nursing care center. We discussed about a social security system in the United States. We also discussed about the situation that coronavirus cases greately increased in Japan. That's the same in the United States.

憧れのアスカ先生とのお初のレッスン。自己紹介を聞いていただいた後、Nature Aquarium について、自分で書いた英文をreading して発音やストレス、抑揚などをチェックしていただきました。「まずは一つ一つの文をゆっくり丁寧に発音してそれを録音し、クリアに聞けるようになってから少しずつ速度を早めるとよい」「exaggeratedly（大袈裟に）話すことと伝わりやすくなる」等の助言をいただきました。フリートークの中で聴きなれない単語等あり、聞き返すと、丁寧に解説（プラスアルファのおまけも）してくださり、とてもわかりやすかったです。

Today, I practiced listening to movie clip.
After I listened to one sentence, I tried to repeat it and each time Cheese checked and showed the correct sentences.
I could repeat some of them correctly and sometimes couldn't catch what they said.
But Cheese checked and gave me right words. I tried to understand what they said by only listening,
not checking subtitles. That's so good training to practice listening by only sound, not relying on subtitles.
Also it's interesting to find changes of pronunciation when words are connected or obeyed by habits.
Cheese always helps my practice enthusiastically. I really appreciate for her flexible and competent instruction.

色々聞きやすい先生です。
25分があっという間でした。
ちょっとマイクの調子が聞き取りづらい？遠い感じでした。
ほぼ24時間いつでもレッスンを予約できるのがかなりありがたいです。
先生がいつ寝ているのか心配ですが…
