Talking with Madison is fun!
We have a big gap between our ages, but she doesn’t make me feel we have generation gap. She is so calm, comfortable and natural.
We talked about news in Japan and over seas. We also share each other how we struggle with learning our second language.

Before starting our lesson, we talked about a booster shot and its potential side effect - I will take it this afternoon. Then we discussed a favorite shop. I spoke about Starbucks; the coffee shop near the station is nice and cozy. I often like to drink decaf, enjoy listening to jazz, and use free wi-fi. There are always many business people and students. I learned that I should have said a huge apartment building or tall apartment, not a huge apartment. I appreciate your helpful and enjoyable lesson!

Thank you for another great lesson, Sadie.
I had a free-conversation class with Sadie today. We started off with a topic about earthquakes: How did we feel about the one that happened last week, what we have done to be prepared for another one, my story about the Great East Japan Earthquake, etc. And then, we moved on to the pros and cons of introducing a four-day workweek system, which I set as a monthly theme for intensive phrase learning myself. Most of our arguments were on the negative side of the system, and I could get lots of expressions out of our conversation: something felt off, on the surface, meritocracy, and so on.
She is always a delight to talk with, and I really appreciate it because just talking with her cheered me up with the busyness of the end of the fiscal year.

We mainly talked about the earthquake which devastated Northern East Japan. Fortunately it didn't affect the area we live, but there was bullet train which detailed and there were a few tremors. It reminded me the earthquake in 2011. We also talked about the relationship between Russia and Ukraine. Even though, China, Russia, Britain, the United States and France have agreed to avoid a further spread of nuclear arms, Russia invaded Ukraine.
