The article we read together was on Japan's China strategy. The US-Japan alliance is clearly the cornerstone of Japan's foreign strategy. The United States seems committed to preventing Chinese hegemony. At the same time, it is hard to accept that taking a hard position against China is the only way to fulfill Japan's national interests. Therefore, after the election, the administration's priority will be to develop a policy for China.

会話が途切れることなく25分があっという間に過ぎました。
時々、話が乗ってくると口調が早くなってしまうので、その点でリスニングが少し難しいと感じました。
発音は聞き取りやすい方だと思うので、口調が早くなってきたらゆっくり喋ってくれるようお願いをすればよかったかなと思いました。

We went over my website. We mainly talked about Former Prime Minister Abe's assassination. In Japan, politicians who pur priority on economical issues than foreign policy tend to be evaluated higher, but overseas tend to be opposite. Since Japan is a country which has the highest gun control policy in the world and this incident is considered to be a challenge to a democracy. The murderer should have a death sentense, but this case is still under trail so we don't know yet about his sentense. In the United States, the murderer tends to be killed right at the incident by police. Police has a right to kill him, but not in Japan.

It was nice meeting you, Stewart.
Today, I had a free-conversation lesson with Stewart. I did not prepare any topics to talk about in advance, but he brought up what he thought I would be interested in through reading my bio. He was so adept at finding common points between us, which really helped make our lesson fruitful.
Rarely had I imagined that I was able to talk about my favorite musicians with a native speaker. English definitely gives me a glimpse of another life.
